Paul Uhlmann

Paul Uhlmann works across painting, drawing and artists’ books to create work which focuses on the forming and deforming image, in relation to place, process impermanence, and embodiment.

His work embraces a world view of immanence where all life folds into one living breathing substance. Our bodies are porous and part of the environment.

All of life is process.

Humanity is deeply intertwined with nature.

He is interested in non-linear time and how events of our colonial past are always unfolding and always with us.

Art is a form of philosophy which can help us question and understand our world and heal past misunderstandings and injustice.
